Après Christmas from Salt Cay
Twas four days after Christmas, and I had not yet started my letter
Island Thyme was closed on Sunday, so the time was no better
To write to our friends both far and near
And send our best wishes and bring closure to the year
We’d been cooking and serving till the wee hours each day
And we knew our busy season was just getting underway.
Looking back on the year with its ups and its downs
We have covered many miles and put on a few pounds.
Andrea added husband, Todd, to our family this year
Maddie continues to shine and keep us all in good cheer
Bubba’s brood is now out of the army and living their dream
In Northern Arkansas, a new house, new job and little Quin in between
Laos, Bali, Philippines, Peru and Mauritius were on this year’s travel list
Cruising the Mekong, visiting with friends and spa days were some of the best!
Early spring was a time of loss for our family like no other
Getta and Gigi passed away with dignity in hospice within a month of each other
We feel so fortunate when old friends join us on our island home
Please know that we’re here quite a bit and welcome you all and then some
Thanks to Facebook it seems like it’s easy to stay close and in touch
But, we still love hearing from each and every one of you so much!
With best wishes for good health and happiness in the upcoming year
