    Salt Cay: Recycles

The week of clean-up and recycling starts out with a "bang" on Salt Cay!

Special thanks goes out to our District Commissioner, Carolyn Dickenson, for coordinating moving the derelict plane from the airport.  The plane is destined to become the newest dive and snorkel site on Salt Cay.  Thanks goes out to all who helped with this project, especially Richard (Salt Cay Divers) for helping dismantle the plane, Don for assisting in moving it under Ollie's ever present eye.

The "girls" of Salt Cay Salt Works, not to be out done have started their own project to use discarded Brugal and Vino Tinto bottles, and turn them into packaging for their products.  Currently the girls are paying USD $0.30 per bottles for the first 1,000 bottles brought to the Collection Center at Porter's Island Thyme Bistro.
