Salt Cay Devco, Ltd.: Press Release

Six Senses Resort and Spa to be the operator of Salt Cay Resort

Salt Cay Devco Ltd, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – January 22, 2010:

Salt Cay developer and Six Senses Resorts & Spas have signed an agreement to establish and operate Six Senses Salt Cay as the first Six Senses Resort and Spa in the Caribbean.
Six Senses is a resort and spa management and development company established in 1995, which manages resorts under the prestigious brand names Soneva, Six Senses and Evason, plus Six Senses Spas and Six Senses Destination Spas. They already successfully operate in the Maldives, Vietnam, Oman, Jordan, Thailand, and Spain.

Six Senses Resorts offer luxuries of the highest international standard in an environment that nurtures the indigenous feel in all of its architectural designs and amenities; fusing together nature with the ultimate guest experiences and creating luxurious destinations that speak for themselves.

Six Senses Spa is a key element of all the Six Senses Resorts and Spas, and offers a wide range of holistic wellness, rejuvenation and beauty treatments all of which are administered under the guidance of expert therapists and alternative practitioners.

Six Senses Salt Cay Resort has been designed to introduce the group’s SLOW LIFE (Sustainable – Local –Organic – Wholesome Learning – Inspiring – Fun – Experiences) philosophy with the Turks and Caicos Islands positioning itself as the first luxurious resort of this kind in the Caribbean.

The First Phase of the project will comprise of a Six Senses Resort (40 one-bedroom villa suites, two-bedroom villa suites and three-bedroom retreats), 13 Residential Villas, Six Senses Spa, and Golf Course (Audubon International Gold Signature Program).

Salt Cay, a remote inhabited island in Turks and Caicos, is home to some of the best beaches, breathtaking hues from inviting waters, and legendary diving, snorkeling and fishing - a tropical classic that embraces the concept of "beautiful by nature"; perfectly aligned with Six Senses’ environmental commitment of "intelligent luxury".

Six Senses Resorts & Spas presents a great opportunity to protect the heritage of Salt Cay for future generations and create new and exciting job opportunities and business ventures which will facilitate the rebuilding of the community.

In addition to several dining alternatives, including an organic garden restaurant, there will be a jazz bar, an Astronomic Observatory, Whale watching station and Cinema Paradiso – classic movies in an open environment that has proved a winning double feature in many Six Senses resorts. Leisure activities will by the very nature of the location focus on water activities, but will also include tennis and an eco-friendly golf course.

A signature feature of Six Senses Salt Cay will be the Six Senses Spa. A team of highly skilled international therapists will take guests on sensory journeys with Six Senses’ a la carte and local salt-inspired treatments for balancing the senses. Visiting practitioners will bring unique talents to the spa, which will enlighten and inform guests on the various treatments that will create balance and harmony in their lives. A little luxurious pampering never goes amiss and will be on hand to complete the total relaxation experience.

"We are delighted to work with such an established and inspiring group as Six Senses and to be the first Six Senses resort in the Caribbean. They are the most highly awarded luxurious hotel and spa operator worldwide in the last decade. Our common environmental and community approach is not just a marketing tool but a true philosophy with deep involvement in all community initiatives.

Together we can bring not just a new brand to the Caribbean but an entirely new experience for our future guests with great benefits for the local community and throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands. A significant portion of our resort revenues will be reinvested to historical preservation, environmental and community programs and activities. We have a unique opportunity and we are fully dedicated to build and operate a unique and nature friendly resort on Salt Cay." said Mario Hoffmann, the owner of Salt Cay Devco.

We anticipate that the proposed opening date will be in 2013.
