Exploring transportation options for Salt Cay, Turks & Caicos Islands

We spent many hours on our vacation in Cambodia exploring options for providing transportation for our guests on Salt Cay.  There was the Bamboo Train...if only we had a single rail track on the island...

...trouble is...if you meet someone coming from the other direction, you have to take the bamboo train off the tracks, take it apart, and then put it back on again after the other train goes by...so not convenient enough.
Then, we took some boat rides---but none compared to the efficiency and comfort of the Salt Cay Community Ferry, so we ruled that out too!
The bus rides were pretty "hairy" to say the least, with all the vehicles and ox carts on the road.  The traffic might not be a problem on Salt Cay, but we just don't know how we'd get a bus to the island in the first place?

Now comes the "tuk-tuk"...this was definitely an option.  They are actually sold (the carriage part, at least) in South Carolina---all we need to do is hook up the tuk-tuk carriage to the back of a motorcycle and away we go!  How do you think Pretty or Apol would feel about offering us all rides?
Guess we ended up relying on our OWN TWO FEET to get us where we need to go on Salt Cay...it's not so big, after all!

One thing's for sure...it's EASY to get to Salt Cay now that Caicos Express offers dependable, scheduled service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays all season long!
Morning or afternoon, we can count on Richie and his team!
Dive Salt Cay & More, http://www.divesaltcayandmore.com/ would be happy to make all your arrangements once you arrive in Provo!
